On 6/28/09 I had a very horrible experience with my New vehicle bought at Family Hyundai of Tinley Park, Illinois about a year ago, it is a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. We were in a tight spot and needed a truck to tow a boat from Iowa to Illinois that we bought from a salesmen on ebay. We were haggled from this dealer and were lied too,and to top it off feel we were taken advantage of. Highly recommended to all readers stay away from this dealer.
My truck was acting funny, it would drive poorly, vibrate like crazy and it was slowly losing power. I called the dealer that my wife and bought it from and was told flat out that our warranty has expired and they have no obligation to repair the vehicle. I asked them what I should do and their reply was either sell the vehicle or let the fiance company repossess the vehicle and not make payments on it. You would figure with a name like Hyundai they would stick to their words. But again I was wrong.
My wife and I were coming off of our vacation when I was at a intersection and the transmission started to slip, the look on my face and my wife's were like ready to fall apart. Because Family Hyundai told us we had no other warranty we thought we were in serious trouble. To take my mind off of my truck my wife and I decided to go and look at different vehicles. We stopped by Ed Napleton Dodge of Oak Lawn,Illinois. Our salesmen Vito and the manager Roger were very understanding and helped us out a great deal. After filling out a application for credit , our salesmen Vito asked us if we were aware of the 7 year 70,000 mile warranty that Chrysler has offered. my wife and I looked at each other like we did not understand. Vito and Roger explained this to us very carefully. After taking their advice I called Chrysler Corporation and they confirmed that we have this warranty. I was so relieved that this was in affect I called other Dodge dealer's to get this truck and get it fixed.
Why am I writing this people ask, well if it was not for Vito or Roger's honesty we would have purchased a vehicle we did not need, spend more money then we had. At the tough times that this dealer has right now with Chrysler filing bankruptcy they took the time to show us what Napleton Dodge was all about. Every dealership does not want to lose out on a sale either by customer's changing their minds or not getting the credit they need to buy a vehicle. And this is another point, out of all the dealer's we have dealt with, they treated us like we were poor, and that we did not have the credit to make us buy or sell worthy. Not Vito or Roger at Napleton Dodge. Vito called me the next morning like he promised and told us we were unable to get credit for the new vehicle. He was very apologetic and told us to keep trying in the near future. He did not treat us like we did not make him money, but he treated like human being's and knows how we feel.
I can honestly say that Napleton Dodge took a hit by closing their Service Center, but their attitudes are still as high as the next dealer. I feel that Chrysler really needs to take a look at this Dealership and see what other customer's has said.
Every now and then, I see vehicles with the Napleton Dodge license plate cover on, and I ask them how their experience was with dealing with this dealership, and I hear the same thing. They treated us great and we are very happy with them. As of this date writing this I have spoken to at least 50 known customer's of Napleton and they all said the same thing. When they would ask me if I worked for them I said no, but they saved me allot of money and that is what I am grateful for.
I hope the Illinois reader's who are reading this story, take some time go there and talk to Vito and the other sales staff, tell them you read about them from here. They are in my book the Honest Dealer that I know today.
Most of all they treat you with respect, without that, they would be another Family Hyundai of Tinley Park. Would love to hear responses and comments about this posting.
